
Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB) has released the Recruitment Rules and Examination Rule Book 2026 for direct recruitment to the posts of Subedar (Ministerial) Stenographer and Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial) under the Madhya Pradesh Police Department. A total of 655 vacancies have been announced.
The online application process will start on 24 September 2026, while the last date to submit the application form is 8 October 2026. Candidates can make corrections in their applications up to 13 October 2026.

The highest number of vacancies, 370 posts, is available for Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial) – Field Unit.
Educational Qualification
For Subedar (Ministerial) Stenographer, candidates must have passed Higher Secondary/10+2. They must also have Hindi shorthand qualification at 100 words per minute, along with CPCT with Hindi typing and the prescribed computer qualification.
For Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial), candidates must have passed 12th standard. CPCT with Hindi typing and the prescribed computer qualification are also required.
Age Limit
The age of candidates will be calculated as on 8 October 2026. The maximum age varies according to category and the applicable rules mentioned in the recruitment rule book.
Candidates who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can apply only for unreserved Open vacancies and will not receive MP-specific reservation or age-relaxation benefits.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of a first-stage online written examination, followed by document verification and a practical examination conducted as prescribed by the Police Department.

The written examination will contain 100 questions for 100 marks and the duration will be 2 hours.
Practical Test
For the Subedar Stenographer post, the practical examination includes Hindi shorthand dictation and transcription at the prescribed speed of 100 words per minute.
For Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial), the practical examination includes Hindi typing as prescribed in the examination rules.
MP Police Recruitment 2026 Exam Date
The first-stage written examination will begin from 3 November 2026 and will be conducted in two shifts.
